    A more direct proof of Gerschgorin’s theorem

    The aim of this paper is to show a different presentation of the classical proof of the first part of Gerschgorin’s theorem. Besides for the second part of this theorem, there is a more straightforward and understandable proof than the one given on most of the classical books.

    An explicit set of isolated points in R with uncountable closure

    The aim of this paper is to show, in a explicit way, a set of isolated real points with uncontable closure. The advantage of our construction is the fact that we can get a clear idea of how is this set distributed among the real line, although such a set has a counter-intuitive property.
