Resumen en español
Aphids are the most important pest on chili pepper crops around the world, hence efforts have been made to implement biological and chemical control of them. However, little is known about other insect pests and their biological controllers, even if they are an essential part of the agricultural system. The aim of this note is to contribute to the knowledge of hymenopterans associated with chilli pepper crops, particularly those non-parasitoids of aphids. To achieve it, a sampling was carried out on crops from Valle del Cauca, then, the hymenopterans non-parasitoid of aphids were identified and photographed. A total of 12 morphotypes were identified, including parasitoids of Pseudoccoccidae and Cecidomyidae, which are important crop pests. Furthermore it is highlighted the need to generate future research in relation to the characterization of the diversity of hymenoptera parasitoids in the Valle del Cauca.
